Lotto Number Frequency & NODS Monitoring
Track the number of times each lotto number has been drawn and monitor how many draws a number has been absent since its last appearance. By examining these statistics, you can optimize your lottery strategy with actual data rather than relying on guesswork. Monitor, study, and make informed choices. However, hot and cold numbers don't exist so we don't advise players to rely on individual numbers as a strategy on its own. Please scroll down for explanations.

Rules to Ensure Accurate Number Frequency and NODS Analysis
To ensure that your analysis achieves statistical significance and yields meaningful conclusions, follow these essential rules:
- One Lottery Game Only – Do not mix winning numbers from one game with those of another game, even if they have the same format. Each game has unique statistical patterns.
- Do not include the extra number - If your lottery game draws an extra or bonus number, please do not enter it in the input field. This tool excludes bonus numbers as they do not contribute to meaningful probabilistic outcomes and are not mathematically practical for analysis.
- Enter your data in sequence – To ensure accurate analysis, please input the data in correct order, starting from the earliest draw date.
- No Cherry-Picking – You must enter all winning numbers within the selected period. For example, if analyzing one year of historical results, include every draw from that period without omitting any data. Selectively choosing results can introduce bias and distort statistical findings.
- IMPORTANT: Avoid Mixing Datasets – Many lottery games have undergone format changes over time. Ensure that your dataset covers a period when the game maintained the same format. For instance, the New Jersey Pick-6 game evolved through several modifications, shifting from a 6/36 format to 6/39, then to 6/42, followed by 6/46, then 6/49, and eventually reverting to 6/46. Mixing results from different formats can lead to inaccurate frequency analyses and misleading conclusions. Before conducting any frequency analysis, research the history of the lottery game to ensure consistency in format throughout your selected period.
- Accuracy is Your Responsibility - Please ensure that all information you enter is accurate and correct. It is your responsibility to verify the details you provide, as errors may affect processing and outcomes.
- Focus on Recent Draws - For better insights, focus on more recent lottery draws. For example, instead of analyzing draws from 2016 to 2020, it's better to cover a period closer to the latest results, like 2023 to the present.

Use straight non-directional quote to separate input. Please read How to format data? ↗ (opens in a new tab).
✔️ Correct: "March 4, 2025","1,10,20,25,31" ← all quotes are straight and non-directional.
❌ Incorrect: “March 4, 2025”,“1,10,20,25,31” ← calculator will not read data with curly quotes.
TIP: You can use a spreadsheet and save your file as CSV (comma delimited). Follow this guide ↗ (opens in a new tab).
Follow the example format below.
"February 02, 2019","1,2,3,4,5" "February 06, 2019","11,12,13,14,15" "February 09, 2019","21,22,23,24,25"

Number Frequency: Hot and Cold Numbers
Hot and cold numbers don’t exist because all balls converge to the same expected value over time. Still, in the short term, some numbers can appear more often than others. We include hot and cold numbers because strategizing cannot be exciting without some number-related statistics. Use this information to include some personal approach of your own. How you use this information is up to you. Strategy-wise, we recommend that you focus on combinatorial compositions. See How to Win the Lottery: The Math No One Talks About (No Hype).
NODS (Number of Draws Skipped) Explained
NODS is the count of how long a number has been absent since last drawn. This is a metric that allows players to understand the behavior of a number over time. Use this metric with your current strategy and add more excitement into your play. Again, we don't have existing strategy for individual numbers. How you use this information is up to your personal perusal.
Note on Gambler's Fallacy:
While NODS helps you monitor how long a number has been absent, please do not fall for the Gambler's Fallacy. This fallacy is the belief that a number "will" come up because it hasn't shown up in a while recently. In a random lottery game, each draw is independent, therefore previous draws will have no effect on future draws. NODS can enhance the excitement as you try to understand the activity of balls within the game. If you want to use it, it must be used in conjunction with other probability tools. In short, you should not use NODS as a strategy tool on its own.
